A mid 20th Century Barr & Stroud G.K.5 pair of navel deck binoculars. Binoculars of brass and aluminum construction and stamped NPL46 on one tube. Inscribed on plaque 'No. 865 A.C.2030. British Patent Nos 435220 & 572577. A further plaque to base is inscribed 'Ind Pat AP No 28805/1942, Aus Pat AP No 5149/1942, Can Pat AP No 490640/1942'. Housed in wooden case and sold together with an adjustable wooden tripod, both with brass fittings. Plaque on trip inscribed 'Stand Inst. No. 17A MKII, Radio Ltd N.Z. 1942, New Zealand 1586.' Condition - some black marks on binoculars, likely small remnants of paint, optics appear clear.
