British Military General Service Medal (1793-1814) awarded to THOs BAYLIS SERJt 7th FOOT. Sgt Thomas Baylis of the 7th Regiment of Foot (Royal Fusiliers) was entitled to 11 clasps on his MGSM: Martinique, Busaco, Albuhera, Ciudad Rodrigo, Badajoz, Salamanca, Vittoria, Pyrenees, San Sebastian, Orthez, Toulouse. He was one of only nine men of the regiment to claim an 11-clasp medal; of those nine, only one other man of the 7th claimed the same combination. The 7th Regiment of Foot (Royal Fusiliers) was a prestigious City of London line infantry regiment.
