Julian Melgrave (British, active c.1950’s). A large format original poster design painting, supposedly for Ladbrokes bookmaker, depicting a female horse rider riding through a field. Signed ‘Julian Melgrave’ to bottom left of poster. Poster in tube marked to Ladbrokes, 41/45 Church Street, London, NW8 8ES. Melgrave was a personal friend of Augustus John, his dry-point etching of John hangs in the National Portrait Gallery. 55.5cm x 68cm (73cm where the head elevated above the square shape of the design).
